iRest for Service Members, Veterans and their Families. Civilians Welcome.

Join us for an afternoon of iRest.  The afternoon will begin with an orientation and introductions led by Iraq War Veteran Lee Wagner, followed by Certifed iRest® teacher Michelle Lynch who will facilitate the research based practice of iRest Yoga Nidra.  We will conclude with discussion/debrief and snacks.      


ABOUT iRest® was endorsed by the US Army Surgeon General and Defense Centers of Excellence as a complementary and alternative medicine (CAM):  “The origins of IRI and iRest are deeply tied to the service and support of the US Military. In 2006, the Department of Defense conducted research at Walter Reed Army Medical Center (WRAMC) on the efficacy of  iRest, the protocol was developed and led by Richard Miller, PhD. The study was conducted with soldiers returning from Iraq and Afghanistan experiencing post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)." (irest.org)   


iRest® is practiced in a fully supported lying down position using  bolsters and blankets to get the body comfortable.  You can also practice seated or any way it is best for you.  The studio is fully equipped but please feel free to bring anything else you may want for comfort.
